Quick Pie Blip and Homemade Whipped Cream

Last night I made a pecan pie with left over crust from last week.  But this time I sprinkled a little salt on the crust before adding the filling.  The sweet and salty was a hit!

Then I made whipped cream from scratch.  It’s super easy.  Use a metal bowl and a hand mixer.  Make sure the bowl and beaters are really REALLY cold.  Stick them in the freezer for like 30 minutes.  Then pour heavy whipping cream into the bowl and whip with the hand mixer until the cream is stiff.  It should be able to stand on it’s own.

This used to be liquid! Ahh the power of the old school hand mixer.

Sit back and enjoy the praise, but make sure you grab a slice before it’s all gone!

Humph. Pie making also teaches lessons in humility? Who knew.

This pie was brought to you by “The Commitments” Soundtrack and the Magnetic Fields.
