FSBO’s Homecoming!

FSBO means For Sale By Owner.  Pronounced: fizz-bow.  Fizzy or Fizzywig for short.  She’s a 4 month old tabby from the Orphans of the Storm shelter in Riverwoods.

It was love at first site.  My sister, Ellie, and I went back and forth about whether or not to adopt.  We had an instant connection and she was clearly a ham for the camera… so she fit snugly in with the Hazlett family gene pool.

She posed for the camera. Posed. Mean muggin'.

For $90, Orphans of the Storm will neuter/spay and give the adoptees their first shots.  So we signed her up for the snip snip and she was ready to be picked up a few days later.

The nicest people!

She was a little out of it… but still excited to see me.  And oh so happy to have a “safe ride.”

Looks like I'm the designated driver Fizzy.

She passed out about 5 minutes into the drive back which is great because I forgot my wallet and didn’t want to get her post-op munchies.  I kid, I kid.

She did perk up for Jane's Addiction on the radio... so there's that.

I had to take her to the office while I waited for Ellie.  She refused to sit anywhere else but in my arms or on my lap.

Yep. She's fast asleep, in my arms, face down, in the palm of my hand, for 15 minutes.

I tried to make her a bed in my desk drawer.

That lasted 15 seconds, give or take a few.

Effort #1:

Effort #2:

Then she almost fell out of the drawer attempting to get back to my lap.

Seriously, no fibbin', she's out like a light.

Seriously, no fibbin’, she is out like a light here.

It was easy to pass her off to Ellie so I could close up shop.

Again, like a dead zombie. If that's even possible.

We’re still working on her manners.

Then again maybe we ought to consider finishing school for Miss Doris Day over here.

Which ever way you slice it, we are all very happy to have her home with us.

I think the proof is in the pudding, don't you?

If she’s this much fun completely hammered on anesthesia, I can’t WAIT to see her all sobered up and feisty!

And so it begins…
